Good point Casey! I`ve never had a problem with Sunoco Purple passing fuel check, even after sitting in the tank all winter long. Some others fail after a couple of weeks. That`s where the cost gets really high! Lane

Jeff,
What Downs fuels in Riverside sells Sunoco? I just got off the phone with their office in Corona and they tell me they don't have a station in Riverside and they don't sell Sunoco anywhere. I've been buying from Downs for years and complained bitterly when they dropped Sunoco and switched to VP. I'll switch back in a heartbeat if I can.

Sunoco Purple vs C-11--------We backed to backed with our cars at the track and found absolutely no difference except price and availability. I carry a 30gal drum in my trailer which usually is plenty when I'm on a trip. Fuel check never a problem.

In Las Vegas, NV the Rebel station at Sahara and I-15 has both Rockett 100 unleaded and 111 at pumps by the gallon. 111 cost about $6.50 when I checked a month ago. 100 is available at all Rebel stations at the pump. I don't recall the cost since I don't use it, but probably around $6 per gallon. Of course, you can buy them by the drum also, at a small savings.

Knowing that all combos are different I can say I did pickup about .08 to.10 with C11 vs. purple. Now thanks to some of the older guys I was told that purple likes to run around 13.2/1 and C11 likes to run around 12.8/1. Having done my own testing afterwards I can backup those numbers. I'm sure others have gotten different results but thats what I've gotten. Now if someone bracket races a low compression stocker between NHRA/IHRA races I can say I'm not afraid of mixing 93 and purple to drop the SG rating of purple to what C11 would be and taking advantage of the cost difference. I also like to flush my tank with pump gas and even a couple caps of Marvel before sitting my truck which has seemed to have taken care of some of corrosive effects that C11 seems to have.
