Default Re: Lack of integrity

The new cars are cool and do belong on the racetrack. I think the suggestion most guys are making is to put them in their own class until they get closer to a realistic factor. The Challengers just went 1.7 under the old index in 4,000 feet of air. That's probably over 2 seconds under the old index in decent air.

By the second round of class, the only cars left are the CJ/DPs. I really don't see how separating things for a few years is that big of a deal. There are close to 30 of these cars at Indy.

Secondly, I see a lot of people going after Danny Gracia or Bruce for this but knowing a little bit about how all this went down, these orders came from higher up the food chain. Also, you can't blame Ford or Dodge for submitting a low horsepower factor and hoping it gets approved. Who wouldn't do the same thing in their position?

The guys who have spent countless hours on their combinations are getting screwed by NHRA brass. There is no way around it. Our East Coast Stock Superstock races pull 40-50-60 cars/divisionals are almost always full. I say we get our own thing going if NHRA doesn't care about us.
