Jeff Lee, post 119...."I had a long talk with .......NHRA....."
I pretty much enjoy your posts, many are enlightening; I'm just trying to figure out how you can talk directly to NHRA....a long talk nonetheless....I can't get e-mails, letters answered, or anyone....ever...on the phone. Inquiring minds want to know the secret to direct access. Care to share? |

Glad to see all the new cars that have come into drag racing, I love the fact that they're not afraid to invest their hard earned money in our sport. I'm for a triple A rating on all the CJ and DP's give them a new class AAA/SA on down Right down to EAA/SA no problem, this way older combination won't be as affected by this new blood in their ranks. CJ's and DP's aren't VIN numbered street vehicle, mostly all factory race cars and should have their own class anyways. I know it won't help other cars to qualify in a field. NHRA should have an all run if you show up policy in Stock super stock. My opinion and we all know what they say about opinions.CR

Why not....
A/FX @ 7.0 B/FX @ 8.0 C/FX @ 9.0 ....make the indexes realistic and everyone should be happy. |

It makes sense. I don't see the owners of the paper cars going for it, it would take away the unfair advantage they know they have.

It should start at 6.0 with .50 between the classes.

I don't see why you would need to add a bunch of classes. If I really had my way you would have A/FX only. All "paper" cars. Anything that wouldn't fit at 7.0 should go to Super Stock.
This would be a cool car at 7.0! ![]() Last edited by GUMP; 09-13-2010 at 11:32 PM. |

At 7.0, a realistic index would be around 9.50, since the weight break for SS/C is 7.0, and we've already seen a CJ in SS/BA run 8.50 @ 157 in 3400 feet of air. I bet they don't go for that. But the math is pretty close. We've seen a SS/DA CJ run a 9-teen in the same air, and the break for SS/D is 7.5.
