The 12 HP that the LS1 received was returned, its back to 342 for the ram air/ss hood combo. However, it was not because it was at a factored track. It clearly states in the new rules that factored tracks are included in the instant hit when going 1.25 or more under. The LS1 was singled out when it was given the 12 HP (there were several other cars that went more than 1.25 under and did not get HP) This was pointed out and presented to the committee.

Okay, whatever the reasoning behind it, no cars got hp this year for running 1.25 under a factored index. I was one, Byron Setters, Angelo Phillips and a couple more.
Seeing it's still the same year, I wouldn't expect to see it happen.
Next year , with a revised or rewritten rule and a prominent warning, it probably WILL happen.
Then again, who knows?

This was just pointed out to me by someone else.
So again, what we have is NHRA operating with NO consistency ,NO rhyme or reason, NO plan, and doing what they want, when they want.

What a way to run a business ...

Yep, and Im pretty sure thats why they added this last sentence to the AHFS rules.
So does the AHFS mean anything when they pull that crap ?? NOT !!

The decision to adjust horsepower or to reduce the index will be at the discretion of the NHRA Tech Department.
