1. Traxxas was cool - probably spent 30 minutes watching. The one I wanted was only 400 bucks and did he do some amazing tricks with them.
2. Harland Sharp has new roller rockers for the new HEMI and your Duramax tow truck 3. Ford is in to drag racing BIG TIME, Dodge is in to drag racing big time, GM is not. 4. If you are a drag racer, PRI is the place to go. If you are an engine builder or an oval track racer living in the Midwest and you want to drive to a show, INDY will do. 5. If you want to see cool cars, other than oval track while at a "PRI -type event" Orlando is the place to go. Bryan Fuller had a couple amazing cars, SPECTRE had his 400 mile per hour plus Bonneville car. Plus loads of other drag race cars. Herb Mr. 4-speed and Big Daddy signing autographs in the DODGE booth. 6.Miller Welders had a new welding coat "that molten aluminum will just slide off" versus "nomex that molten aluminum would go through in 3 seconds" 7. Hotels are a ton cheaper, Good food is a lot cheaper. 8. See a lot of long time friends and vendors that only come to ORLANDO and will next year also. And I know some vendors will only go to INDY. Also, I stopped anyone with a Bonneville hat or shirt on and bent their ear for a few minutes and there were a lot of people from the salt flats there as I am going as a spectator in 2011 and a salt flats racer in 2013 or 2014. 9. Moroso again had a '"Wall" of new products for drag racers 10. Did find out that to "get a half-naked lady signing autographs on posters in your booth for a day" costs 400 dollars.......and it does get you attention........

Phil, what are you putting together for LSR? Some days I wish I had spent the time and money for a landspeed car instead of a stocker...

I have put some serious thought about building a Land speed car. There would be nothing cooler than being in the 200 MPH club and saying that you hold a land speed record. It's definately something I want to do before I die. It's on the bucket list. Damn it now I'm Hijacking threads LOL

My dad went to Bonneville a few years ago with Danny Byrd. The problem with going is it could get expensive if you want to go back. They do that type of racing in Maxton NC at an old runway, we are going this spring.

Going with my 99 Z-28 that I drag race now. We are putting in a new cage this winter and Parsons and Myers is building a Brodix-headed, Quick-Fuel-carbed, Moroso-vacumed (?) 388 CI small block that will clear 200 mph. I plan on taking it to the MAXTON Mile race in NC first. This car will go 200 mph, but to get in the 200 mph club, you need to beat an existing record and then go 200 mph or over. It is not as simple as going 200 mph. I want to get my feet wet first. You can go to you tube and see a stock new vette go 200 mph and spin.
I plan on letting the driver of my Z-28 drag it for two more years and then convert it to Bonneville that winter. M/T 8 ply BONNEVILLE tires are $750.00 each and I have to have the Moon Disk screw on hub caps, welded steel wheels...plus a very large fire extinguisher. Hans-type devise, a tech like no other tech, parachutes, etc.... I will be racing my stocker at the IHRA NITRO JAM at US 131 Motorsports Park on August 12 and 13 and flying to Salt Lake City on the 14th. It is not as easy as you think. Imagine going down a dirt road at 200 mph. Stories of cars going 195 mph then adding 200 pounds in front and 300 pounds in the rear and suddenly picking up 15 mph because of spinning the tires at 195 MPH !!!! Phil
