Thumbs up Re: $305.00 Nat. event entry

From Donna Harper- IHRA

Keeping with the tradition of providing great sportsman racing at affordable prices, the International Hot Rod Association announced today that it will once again keep sportsman racing costs at their current levels for the 2011 racing season.

The IHRA will once again maintain all competitor entry fees, membership costs, license costs and anything else associated with sportsman racing at their current levels. The IHRA is also actively involved in seeking out and securing new and exciting ways to further provide value for sportsman racers.

“Due to recent industry announcements regarding an increase in racer fees, we have already started getting a lot of calls and e-mails about whether we will follow suit. The answer is no. The IHRA is and always has been committed to providing maximum value to sportsman racers. I hate reacting to an announcement we didn’t even make, but when these things happen in our sport, competitors tend to assume IHRA will follow suit. I just want to put our competitors’ minds at ease and let them know that we will continue our tradition of working as efficiently as possible and cutting internal costs when we can in order to not increase any costs related to sportsman racing,” said Skooter Peaco, IHRA Vice President of Race Operations. “This sport is expensive enough as it is so, in addition to keeping costs at an affordable level, we are also in the process of adding to the programs already in place and finding new ways to showcase our incredible sportsman racing program.”

Check back with IHRA.com for more announcements in the coming weeks as the International Hot Rod Association gears up for another exciting season of racing beginning in January.
