Because they overinflate the true value of the cars. Then every a$$hole in the world who has the same car, irregardless of condition ,thinks he has a gold mine. That's why.
You said you feel for us NHRA racers who are getting hosed by the board, well how about the average, true car guy, who's getting indirectly hosed by these rich, drunk, stupid
supposed "car guys"?

Amen!

"If anyone who knows the market thinks that B-J sets the standard deserves what the get.

As Ed said, everyone who sees BJ thinks their car is worth the same and you can't get close to buying anything for a decent price for months after BJ.

We live in a world of excess. We may not like it, but as some say "It is what it is".

Mr Ed: I personally bought two cars years ago at a Barrett-Jackson auction. Way back before there "ringers" were in on the bidding and driving the prices of these cars to outrageous numbers. There were allegations of this, but I don't know if they ever proved it. I watched a friend of mine bid and pay for a Shelby GT 500 drop top, and I thought he was freakin' insane to pay what he paid for that car. But, you are correct, in that now because of these auctions that every Mom and Pop that has one sittin' in their barn thinks it's worth a fortune.

I have to agree this is one great car show. The real market value of a 2007 Shelbygt500 is around $36,000.00.Just tell your friend to drive and enjoy his Shelby!

Now it's a crime for people to overpay for a car....it's their friggen money so they can do anything they want with it......This is still America ain't it....

Maybe some of you would be happier if Obama had a government agency to look into and regulate car prices .....Nah.......I don't think that would work either......How about we just let the market place regulate prices......Oh yea thats whats already happening at B-J.....

So if and when we overthrow the government AND NHRA we get all the cars back .......

All NHRA members who have paid their dues for at least 20 years...like myself..gets a free Classic muscle car of his or her choice....and all the rich guys who have them now get bicycles made in China....
