This thread started because of a UMTR / OMSS race at Indy on May 7th. An e-mail was sent to one of the Pro Stick guys making them aware of the race. A good friend called me and asked about the diaper rule on Indys websight because he wanted to attend. I was ??.

Maple Grove apparently wants to start some type of stick car class, so another friend cc'd me and upon research, the diaper rule come up on their website.

I can't seem to find anywhere exactly what rules and classes apply.

I was at the meeting where this came up. If I understood it right the 9.99 and quicker diaper rule is not an NHRA across the board rule (yet) but it is being enforced in D1 and some other divisions. Maple Grove is choosing to adopt this rule for their 2012 ET races. I'd check with Bob Lang or Dave Mohn about the requirement for LODRS level classes for '11 and '12....then freak out.

I'm just a bracket racer, so I could be wrong.

Yes, for a or ss car they can be more expensive,,,,,,,due to more detail, ie; motor mounts, heat cloth, and draglink (if needed)

But what isn't more costly on a s or ss car.....like headers and such.

My point was the "cheap insurance" with the use of a diaper.........not the exact price.

If I have to hang one more piece of crap on this car I'm done. Almost impossible to work on now.

I will not have any problem with the diaper. However will Maple Grove fix their water preculating problem? And will there be a prorated rebate in entry fees if any racer is delayed for the track to be dried after an issue with this reoccuring problem. Our time is just as valuable as their's. I do believe there are other tracks with the same problem that we (racers) were assured are fixed.

A lot of you guys don't understand the mindset of those who's organization and tracks we use. It's pretty much "Do as I say not do as I do".If you think about this when ***** happens,
it all makes sense.
In defense of the tracks, somethings, like the Great Green Pollen Attack of 2010 couldn't be helped.Joe Sway and crew and the Div 1 crew did their usual great job of getting us racing again as soon as safely possible.
