While I have no dog in this fight, I have to admit that watching Top Stock at the last IHRA Event at Norwalk was some of the most exciting racing I've witnessed. It was "the" event Saturday night, and the stands stayed packed to watch. The fans loved the brand rivalries, and I think they liked the old cars, vs. the new tech cars. Of course they had the crate motors, that I'm sure the Mopar, GM Performance Parts, and Ford Racing benefited from, but sounds like may have had issues? Detroit would have to love it, and with some promotion, I think it could be a winner, for the tracks and keep the factories involved!

That was a great race , I enoyed it because I won it . The place was a mad house that sat night.

I broke a rocker in the finial qualifing round Friday and the lost a lash cap in the motor . We took the motor apart that night and found the cap. Then drove to summit racing store 2hrs away arrived at 9am .

Got the parts and drove straight back , put the motor back together made first round and went on to win the race . What a great night in front of a full house at Norwalk

P.S.
Jeff, the mustangs need to be at 3450 to run with the mopars and new camaro's . head up , under the lights and Saturday night racing . I for one would love it

I have been talking to several people lately who really seem interested in a late model heads up class. It could be a real deal. I have not heard from NHRA yet, but there are a couple of sanctions interested. Maybe we need an association to provide a class for these different events. If you read Kershaw's article in Comp Plus, the Ford factory guys are in favor as is Mopar. I need to round up Kershaw. Anybody know his email? PM me if you have it. Heads up, pro tree, no bye except rd 1(fast loser comes back) specs, rules, easy, not hard to administer. Did I say 1964-65-68. I think I know how to alter the wheelbase on a challenger that nobody can see. Could be fun.
