Missing chrome trim on the tail fins
Missing hood chrome trim parts
Bumper trim pieces missing.....can't recall what parts on the hood and bumper....
Too much clearance around the Stahl headers.....you were allowed 2 fingers....no more
Went down the road to a junkyard....got what we needed and made some patch pieces for around the headers....and raced.>

Try and find a junkyard with old car parts today?!?

No cardboard liner in the glove box ( Gutting) Small bolt holes in the firewall, Short wheel studs ( they came through the wheel but not the long nuts), They didn't have a 283 engined1966 Malibu SS in their book even though it was a factory 283 car. No helmet, you didn't need one in 1975 but NJ had different ideas ( no one told me).

If my memory serves me right, the Emmons Triplets with their Texas drivers license at 15 years old went to Englishtown and was told by authories that you need to be 16 to drive in N.J.

First NHRA race I ever attended was in Houston. I pull up to tech and Wesley says nice to meet you finally wrong trim on your trunk lol. Then he says pull over to the side and get a chassis sticker. Harold says to thin load it up. Wesley took me in the trailer pulls out the book and says go borrow a 4gc put it on (I was running a 327/275 w/qjet) add 175lbs and run GT/H. So we did. Can ran like s... all weekend. Found out the carb I borrowed was messed up and was only running on 2 barrels. Don't work on a 327 like it does on a cobra jet. LOL

Since all the "Old" tech men are gone I'll tell all.
Tossed back in the old NHRA days. Rear spoiler off a 69 Z-28. Ran more MPH that way.
They missed the drum brakes on the front that were about 14 lbs per side less weight than the discs. They also missed the door crash bars that took weight out. So I put the spoiler back on. I think they found the obvious and quit looking.
Modern times: Tossed for 1/4 in too much variation in wheel base. (Saved my A**, too--front strut failing)
Back in the old IHRA days they missed the 200 lbs of sand I had bagged up under the back seat of the Z-28. Couldn't understand why a car without a roll bar weighed so much. Told them it was the crash bars they put in the 69's doors. Glad they didn't see the 4 of us putting the seat in or they to sit on it..
It was common place to qualify light in Modified and put SBC valve covers filled with lead (approx 44 lbs ea) in the floorboard. Harold even opend the door and looked at them once. We even did the heavy spare tire deal, too, Funny how heavy that solid push bar was, too. One time at Hallsville they had us line up behind the scales and weigh before the runs, then after. Interesting how our car gained weight without going to the pits and under the watchful eye of two of Div 4 best.. I'm not telling on that one! I remember a female that ran Comp that got caught with some heavy driving pants. I think they got heavy when she got in the tow truck after the run, before the scales. The joke, or truth, ?? was that Wesley ask her for her pants... LOL!
See Art you weren't the only one that was creative. You just got caught!!
OK, Dwight... Let's hear about yours. I bet you have 2 pages worth...

67Camaro-- put clear plastic in the openings behind the front valance below the bumper-- removed the outer front bumper brackets--removed all non essential hood brackets/braces---filled in the panel in front of the windshield where the wipers come thru BUT we but in Chrome plugs where the holes were supposed to be replaced every single bolt & screw I could with ALUMINUM bolts instead of steel bolts on the entire car---used 68 Chevy II 4 cylinder radiator- aluminum water pump from an Army personell carrier before they were legal--removed the back 1/4 window regulators ---removed the rear seat and when we carpeted the backrest rest area we made 2 panels put our weight box in between them ----1/2 plate steel gas tank shield between the top of the tank and the trunk floor---used a Vega gas tank smaller/narrower but still looks like the Camaro tank--removed absolutely everything under the dash that we did not need--had a 150 pound spare tire (courtesy of Butch Leal)--went thru tech numerous times and the only thing we ever got caught on was the outer bumper brackets and eventually the plastic behind the grille and in the lower valence panel-----this Car could weigh as little as 2795 and as much as 3600 pounds---Wesley/Pappy/Valentine/Gibbs/ Barrett/ Daniels/Danish all checked this car at one time or another

Dick, you need to loan Artie your " Honest Abe Poker Face" so he can get by tech.

Art, Mike Smith used to tell me stories about you and Tex. Tex told him, "You'd need a falk lift ta get that rear bumper off". I can still see Mike laughing about that one.
