I'll agree on UPS!! I sent a ring and pinion to a guy in Canada and he never got it.Then I got a refund check from UPS for the parts after many months of arguing.I sent another ring and pinion same way(customer request) and again he never got the parts. This was back in 2000.
Since then I always use the USPS and never have had a problem.

We ship engine parts and complete engines all over the world several times a year.
We use a broker that handles everything from insurance, duties and freight costs. PBB Global Logistics, they sre international. All we fill out is a commercial invoice, packing list and a certificate of origin. We have never had a part damaged or lost. We always have the customer pick it up at the delivering carriers terminal. www.staggsracing.com
