Yes Jim I am, Aren't you getting tired of beating that dead horse yet? The helmet is good enough for the NHRA tech guy's and believe me they have all wanted to see it thanks to this forum.

Well if i was doin tech after what has been said, I think i would check everything that would be considered safety equip. Your history doesn't do you well, being CHEAP only go's so far, so go ahead and wear that watermellon of a helmet. But you don't need to tell others to follow you to the bridge.....

If I was doing tech, a cheap helmet would be an indicator to be extremely thorough teching the rest of the car.

Btw Wahl, you beat me to it

Guys, I dont have a cheap helmet. That comment was directed to another poster.
Please re-read the posts.

Thanks for all the input, and a great PM someone sent me with information about freeze cycles on racing compound rubber and the associated danger. These slicks have a date with my burn pile and I'll be buying new ones.

Talking Re: old, but plenty of tread left slicks... ???

Glad I could help,lol.

To the helmet brigade that hijacked this nice fellows post, Would you be happy if I had paid $600 for my helmet? of course you would, Hell you would tell everyone how great they are. More money than brains......
Next time you are actually at a race track look around and see how many people are using HJC helmets. Ranked #1 in the world for how many years?. You guy's would love my new bracket car, It even has a 3 point rollbar. My cars have been teched at National events by the same guy's that tech your cars, Never once had an issue. I even set a record once, That's probably more than most of you can say. ROC winner, E.T challenge champion, B.C bracket champion, 6 time track champion 5 of them in the last 6 seasons, You think that happens by luck? I've got more wally's in my basement than you jerkoff's will ever see in a life time. Tell me again how I build unsafe cars. You guy's couldn't buy a win if you put all your money in a bucket, Chad can't even see to the finish line. I take it back, Sliver043 can buy a win...More money than brains.....

On the tire thing. My tires have not been made for the last 8 years. All my tires are older than 8 years old. I keep watch on them.
Other than wearing out (going throught to the cords) I haven't had any problems.
