Re: Nostalgia/SS in the Tri-State S/SS Association
Hi Mr George. I will start working on our schedule soon, hopefully. Need to wait for IHRA to release their Divisional schedules. Ideally, we would have three races each at Quaker City and Pittsburgh, and the annual big money two race weekend in Hagerstown MD the first weekend in November (at least $2,000 or more to win for the Sunday race there). No mandatory membership to race with us. If you want to join points, it's $25, the best five of eight, four of seven, etc races would count. We will pay the top three points finishers, unless we get sponsorship as we had last year, then the top five points finishers will receive money. Race entry fee is $100 for stand-alone races; if we have a two race weekend, $50 for one day $100 for the other. Round money starts third round loser, they get their entry fee back. Using a 24 car field, without any additional sponsor money, a $50 entry race pays $650 win, 300 R/U, 100 semis, 50 1/4s. $100 race pays $1,300 win, 600 R/U, 200 semis, 100 1/4's. We had some sponsorship from racers lats year; if we get something similar, the payouts will increase.
Rules are fairly simple, we follow the NMCA and 422 AllStars rules, as far as allowable entries, pretty much the same as the Buckeye S/SS Series of Jeff Ross. So, if a racer has run with any of those groups, they can run with us. Dial-ins are a normal dial-in deal, to the nearest hundreth. I think the 422 deal, you can (or used to?) only dial to the nearest .05 or .10 only (10.40, 10.45 or 10.50), and can not change after first round, the one series in the Midwest ran on .50 Indexes. With us, you can dial anything, and change between rounds. Makes it much fairer I think.
