Superb article. Can't blame a guy for telling it as he sees it. A little bit of schmoozing his sponsor in the article, but you can't really blame him for that.

I can see lots of parallels from his interview that can relate to stock. The price of engines and building a car has gotten out of hand. A good set of heads now cost more than a complete engine did 12 years ago. Transmission that are 5K plus. No wonder we are seeing not very much new blood into the class. For the kind of money that it costs to be build a mid level class car, a kid can build a car that can run faster for less money

Only 15 pro stockers in Charlotte. They should be racing Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers that look like cars you can buy instead of all looking alike. Rules should be changed to reduce the costs. This is not rocket science to put on a good show that will interest folks.

Greg, you can't tell the Mustangs & Camaros apart? Seriously?

Butt ugly....hard to tell from the side, bubble butts, good thing they have decals and some sort of grille hints
Regardless of performance I can't stand to watch any of the pro classes |

Have to agree. The more recent pro stock cars look absolutely preposterous.. Those scoops are the most hideous creations to ever grace a dragstrip... And the bodies themselves look ridiculous... Very unattractive lines. |
