Wonder if the IRS in the new Mustang uses the same ring and pinion as the Ford 8.8? If it is a completely new differential it's going to be tough to get a serious drag race ratio for it.
It's the 8.8 irs same as the explorer or navigator or whichever one uses it. Regardless, wouldn't it be the same as swapping out the irs on the vette? The 2.3eco is one thing, what happens when somebody runs a coyote or the new 5.2 in the gt-350? That 5.2 is readlined at 8000 from the factory! Flat crank, forged everything, blah, blah, blah...I'm guessing dropping the clutch at 7K with slicks should throw u-joints quite far!

edit: Something else I noticed on the video, notice how it sucks the rear down as he's torquing it up? Modifying angles for straightline only should really improve an already awesome package.

I hope to see the new Mustang at the track this year. The 2.3 L EcoBoost I4 looks impressive. Here is my Super Stock/Comp photochop.

Ford Racing is already working on the solid axle conversion.
I didn't keep the link, but a little while back I saw where they were working on a kit.
