Eddie, been a long time, don't have any idea where your old Chevelle is, but hope you find it.
I am rather fond of those 65 Chevelle's CK |

Thanks for the post guys... That orange 65 Chevelle from Division 1 in the recent photo is owned by myself, and my father Jim Fontana. I was contacted by a friend when he noticed this post on classracer, and he asked me if it was the one we owned. I didn't think so, but I wanted to ask my father just in case. As I suspected, he was positive it isnt the 65 Chevelle you're looking for. My dad Jim bought our car in 1974, and it was a street car. The guy he bought it from drove it to my dads house, and its been a racecar, and in my dads possession ever since. It was powder blue and a black interior (its an original SS). It started as a stocker, and then in the mid 80's my dad started running it in Super Stock. Its been in Super Stock ever since. It is nice to know that there are a handful of other 65 chevelle super stockers out there!!
I added a few recent photos from this year of the car, as well as a photo of my dad racing it back in the 70's when it was a stocker. Thanks for the shout out Ronny!! See you and Scott this season! - James Fontana II |

The one on the left is Bob Cupp. I know it's not that one, we drug it off the back lot of the Chevy dealership we worked at around 69-70 or so.

The car on the right is owned by Larry Wilson. Jerry Ryan knows everything there is to know about this Chevelle. M.J.

Here is my Chevelle, as Mike Short raced it in the late 70's, and early 80's.

I am still looking for this Chevelle (my old race car) It is a 1964, changed into 1965. One quick way to identify it, is by the tail light mountings, they are held in by only the outside trim, so that it was easy to change between the 2 years, along with the front clip, and dash. The Vin number is, 458 37K 171 439 . Mike Short, of Pine Village Indiana was the last known owner that I know of.
Thank you, Eddie Rezac 402 443 8424 |
