Reason for question is seems Stock is becoming Super Stock as each tech point is relaxed year after year. Makes it easier to tech too but is there an end point people would accept as "far enough" for Stock rules to expand to let them just Run as last year?

Don't think cams don't go flat with tool steel.

Larry,

If Sammy won't confirm the facts I will.. Every solid lifter regardless of material is JUNK.

Let's put it this way. It has sent my 396/375 program nothing but backwards. It's not the money in parts that it cost when you have a failure, it's the TIME it takes for recovery....If you have a lifter/cam failure, even if you could pay the parts damage in cast,in full, upon diagnosis- it's the TIME LOSS and the grief factor alone that money can't buy, and I never saw the day that money could purchase time at any price!

Hey- it wasn't me that opened the door to the changes in the duration, spring pressure rule

My opinion is- follow the path of engine safety, ie; roller rockers, etc. No matter what we do, ,assuming the cam lift specs remain the same- which they will, it's still NO WHERE near the cost of running a competitive SS car so please; racers who think the opposite to be true-please stop telling the rest of us to go race SS.

A new cam and set of lifters is cheap by comparison..and there is no advantage to anyone except the cars that already have roller lifters NOT to change the rule.
