One way to analyze the potential is to do a simple comparison based on NHRA hp rating divided by the displacement. Most 2bbl engines suffer from the same constraints of no airflow and mediocre camshafts, so the race potential of hp per cubic inch will be roughly in the same range. The 302 Ford engines come out with the best hp/disp factors using such a crude analysis. A few GM engines have a better hp/disp factor than the 267, but its factor of .56 hp/disp is not bad. Billy's 307 Nova at 168 hp has a hp/disp factor of .55, so you might use that as a comparison along with Lee Tuttle's car.
