I just reread it. Both the engine and car have to be in the NHRA guides. For Chevy, that's anything from 1955 to the present day.
2008 or something COPO engine cars are restricted to Factory SS or FGT. Same for DragPak and CJ. Dale

Consider the question from the point of if the Chevelle motor was also available in Vette in 71 (but at a different HP) which rating would apply if the 71 motor were in a 69 vette?
