A friend made me a set of towing hubs from some broken axles I had a few of before Henry's Machine started making axles for my '56 Chevy Jr Stocker. Those and '56 Chevy front hubs, and stock '56 front tires & wheels. Those and, after I learned longer tow bars (my last one was 6' long) towed smoother, and ten degrees positive caster made me able to back it up like a trailer. Went down the highway smoother than my first trailer. Other than putting that stuff on & off, it towed nicer than the trailer. Wasn't a bad deal.

And if you were from out of state a "very serious racer" to travel that far

Ed,

I still have a set of Henry's axels with a MOPAR inner spline and MOPAR side gears in the posi unit that's in my 1962 Corvette with the stock housing the way it was back in the day.....

The Corvette restoration will happen after I stop racing..

Funny this should come up. I've been thinking about cleaning mine up and towing to Bowling Green next year for the Hot Rod Reunion...I think many would get a kick out of seeing that again after all these years.

Back then it paid about the same as it does now. We made more money at local tracks that ran NHRA And AHRA style class racing. It was fun cheap and we even had a few profitable years.
