Total deck with gasket IIRC is .062"
If you had a zero deck you'd need a .062" thick gasket.... That's for a late model EFI LT-1... The old LT-1's probably have a total deck number that would not be safe to run.....

And with the way that a head gasket usually overhangs the bore, the hot lick is to use the thinnest head gasket that you can and more negative deck.

You want to order the gasket bore size AFTER you do the valve job...in the new NHRA.

I know that sounds like it's right, but for some reason if I run zero deck, the motor is a few horse better then when running the piston down in the block to get the same compression. Maybe it's just me.
