I think we need an Angie's list for any track operated test and tune.
The track starting line crew was underwhelming, the starter had an easy chair to sit in and guess what did not receive any attention, you guessed it, the track. From observation it appeared the track starting line crew were looking for two things, quitting time and payday, nothing else seemed to motivate them. Granted most of the cars were some type of index cars so track prep was not paramount. The sign did say test and tune, so being a naive stocker guy I was looking for some information to improve my lack of driving skills, The one thing I did find out is that I do not have enough tuneability in my car. I could not get it to hook at all, it would move 6'' then blow the tires off. My review for Angie's list is: what a waste of time and money!

The track owners need to realize we as racers expect a track hook by being properly prepared, if it's not prepared you screwed us. I trust the NHRA crew can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear tomorrow! Right now I feel like the guy in "Deliverance",the famous line "squeal like a pig"

Clearly your expectations have not been met, and rightfully so. Test and tune? Provide the canvas!

Some of the local racers are high gear only. Wouldn't spin in a sand pile.

Well it is overcast today as super street has just been called to the lanes. Stock will go out next. Today we have a head wind, with a DA of just over 1600'. It is only supposed to be low 80s this afternoon, so coolest day yet. Hopefully the gnats have gone away! We are to get 3 runs today with first round ( and all the rest) tomorrow.

Here are a few pics from yesterday:

Buggs and Bob Dennis's cars.

56 cars made the first qualifying run this morning in stock.

Hats off to the Division 2 starting line crew! We only picked up .13 in 60' from yesterday's test and tune!!!

i couldnt agree more. the past 3 years i've gone to several test& tune sessions before divisional lodrs races. the most recent one at indy this last friday. track was slippery. cecil was bad on test& tune days along with a few others. maple grove& atco have some good bite most times at test&tune. but some track operators seem to think the higher hp stock/ss cars dont need any more track prep than local bracket cars. you come a day early to try a few things spend the whole day learning nothing because of poor traction, wasting a workday, 1 extra motel night etc wasting expensive runs on the car+additional t&t entry fees. come race day then nhra does the track prep & the bite is good. but then theres only 2 or 3 qualifying runs& not enough time to test. i think the track operators need to get on the same page as the racers as to prep needed for t&t sessions.

What does NHRA do thats different in prepping the track at the LODRS events? Maybe the Div Director needs to come in a day early to see why the track has no bite for TnT.
