Don't matter, I've got my six spots and I can tell you most all the spots on asphalt are already taken.

If you show up Friday, expect to park back in the woods or out on the entrance road.
According to the folks at Atco most of this post is not true. They say to contact them if someone is trying to hold 6 spots and that most of the asphalt is still open. So don't let this guy discourage anyone from going to the race. Now the weather is a different story.

nowhere in my replies did I say anything to discourage anyone from going!

I was there yesterday, got my six spots and parked and know what I saw when I left.

If you want a good spot you don't wait to show up till 3 days after parking started!

It's Atco, IIRC, there were over 400 cars last year.

1320, I have always thought Atco was one of the best Div. one tracks. I have not been there in a few years due to lack of a car. In the past I have taken time off from work and personal life to get there early and have a better pit spot. I think saving one spot for someone is great but after that it should be first come first serve. Exceptions should be for sponsor's. I will be there late Wednesday and I'm sure I will get a great spot. You are right they do have a lot of room and a weekend at the track and off from work is a great weekend. Oh yah by the way could you save me a spot at the end of the staging area. Near that DeMarzo guy. And to anyone reading this IT IS NOT A COW !!! Thanks Barry

A reminder for racers heading to Atco. Below is a photo for parking. The yellow area are for sponsors, the red area are for alcohol and the green area are for Comp and Top Dragster, Top Sportsman. The rest of the parking is for all other categories. I was ask to post this to give racers a heads on were they can park. As far as saving spots, the track reserves the right to park rigs as they see fit. When space becomes an issue, saved spots could be utilized. Suggestion, try to get saved spots occupied as soon as possible.

I've been alot of places but never Atco but whether I got there early or late I always park where they put me. Blows my mind that people think its ok to save a bunch of places for their buddies, if you want to park together then you should all come together. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me, its hard enough to park everyone without having to skip over a bunch of tape and cones and try to make it work out right.

Ha, funny James. Nice to see you make the trip. Parking is not bad if you get here by Thursday, black top parking is pretty much filled up by Wednesday night. Lots of spots are saved, but the track does move the cones and tape when need. No spots are guaranteed except for what I posted. Its not as bad as some say it is. If you get there by Thursday night you will have a decent spot.

I told my racers in my series they were only allowed to save one spot in my FB video and E-Mails, basically to work out of the back or on the side, some took the liberty of roping off 5-6 spots and I had to hear from the track yesterday about it along with some people posting on Facebook. I spoke with DJ yesterday and most of the tape will be getting removed today. I'm sorry that everyone wants to park together but, we all have scooters, golf carts & bikes to go visit our friends during a weekend. I was told by the track because of this in 2019 we probably won't be allowed to leave trailers after a race so not only does it hurt you the racers but, series like mine and Dave Ley's because we try to give you guys a convenience to run our events and leave your stuff there to save on tolls & gas and offer nice car counts.

Ed, there was something posted a few years back on the D1 site but, was never really enforced because people would come down on the Tuesday Night Bracket Night and rope off 20 spots.

maybe but there is nothing posted on the division site now, last year or the year before so unless the division officially makes this a policy and enforce it, racers will always hold spots for friends and it doesn't just happen at Atco, I've seen the same happen at every track in the division but again, Atco is allowing trailers to park 3 days before the event parking officially begins.

BTW, for the record, I've held no spots.

The parking issues are nothing new and especially at Atco where pavement is limited.

Before the alky cars were given the areas they have now, racers taped off large amounts of pit space.

Bob Lange tore it all down one year and said no more of this and enforced it. He probably said you could save one extra space and no more.

Atco was so packed we were pitted off the back and were squeezed in like sardines on the pavement and that was not many years ago.

I have arrived at many races on Thursday early evening and got stuck way down the return road at Atco or way down the end of the field at Cecil. Racers coming in Friday were better off since they parked us back first and later arrivals ended up closer to the starting line. Made no sense to me but I don't drive the bus.

I really don't care except for being pinned into your pit spot when your called to the lanes thanks to the scales and fuel check being backed up and nowhere to go.

I left my trailer at Atco on Sunday and will be there early enough that I should be able to get my MH back in front of my trailer without a problem, I hope....

Atco is a great track but pavement is limited......

Rain is definitely in the forecast......
