It was a 208 Powerglide, the advantage is it does not
pull down the RPM on the gear change like a PG. You do not need to over rev the 1-2 shift like a PG. You have a smaller RPM window to work in. |

I would like to make that change with my car. I figured it would be worth about .015. I like the glide because it is so durable and simple. Mine really struggles at the gear change.

Its hard to beat a PG as far as easy to work on
and reliability, but the ProTrans 904/350 is also very reliable and easy to work on. Its hard to spend the money but you wont be disapointed. |

This was with a 904/Proflite. I made the change in my V-6 car from a well prepared 1.98 PG and 7" converter combination. The first ratios I chose were not best for the 3 speed, but I didn't want to over do it and I used the same converter. 2.12/1.35
3185 lb car it picked up a little more than a tenth. Most of it because of the second gear (no fall back). I then went to a 2.45/145 and got another .08. Then I changed converters and picked up another nickel. The first test was a back to back at the track. The converter change was at the track..so easy to change ratios and simple. I'm sold on them. I have several gear sets and am about to pull the trigger on a turbo 350 version.

Best Trans I have owned. Custom gear ratios available as well.
Picked my car up 4 to 5 hun over my previous T350. Back-to-back tested, same day, during a track rental test session. Been very reliable.
