I agree, I watched a stocker smoke the tires at the finish line at the baby gators and I was sure there would be an excessive braking posted on NHRA racer. Nothing.

I think most people can see what excessive braking is.

But it is like holding in the NFL.

Some refs will call it,and others don't.

From the rulebook.

Anytime it has been
judged that excessive braking has resulted in loss of control
that results in contact with the guardwall and/or light fixtures
or crossing the center boundary lines, INCLUDING PAST THE
FINISH LINE, the contestant will be disqualified. Contact with
guardwall, barriers, or any other track fixture (rubber cones,
when used, are considered visual aids, not fixtures) is grounds

I see a single critical word in here.

CB,
I like your commentary and questions.
Just remember, no matter how many questions are asked and how many answers are given, we are in their sandbox. And that means at anytime, the Division or Tech director can escort anyone they want from the playground.

Has something changed recently? The excessive breaking has been in the rule book for a number of years.

Breaking and Braking. If excessive neither is a good thing. Easy, I'm kidding!

I think the real key word in there is "contact."
