Default Re: new means of track prep

My random thoughts:

1. I can't believe the number of nice muscle cars they have there. Were any of these cars originally sold in Finland? How much would it cost to buy one of these cars and ship it to Finland?

2. It also looks like they have some nice tracks to run at. They must have one SHORT racing season though, considering Helsinki is basically at the southernmost tip of Finland, which is at approximately the same latitude as the border between the Canadian provinces and the Northwest Territories.

3. The winners get a bottle of champagne? Nice touch.

4. Rollerblades? Unless he's skating backwards while spraying, I can only imagine how covered in traction compound he is by the end of the night.

1. If you consider the amount per capita I believe you find the most muscle cars in Scandinavia. Last Saturday I had the possibility to attend to 4 major crusings within a radious of 80 miles.
Cost? I built a stocker out of a original -70 SS Chevelle, just to find out that the cheapest way to get a competitive stocker was to buy a complete car in US ( the Chevelle is now restored and back on the street.)

2. Yes we do have a short season. Bench racing last for nine months over here.
Finland and Sweden has a lot of active S/SS:ers, and we do have a lot of exchange of competitors by ferry over the Baltic sea. The Finns are great guys and we do have a lot of fun, exept racing

3. Champagne...

4 We do know how to skate in ALL directions. Have'nt you seen NHL, and especially Detroit?

Got to go, racing season is near... Pelle Andersson B/SA1700

As I recall, Jim Waldo sold the Fairlane to a racer in Sweden, and also Dvorak sold a Max Wedge car too. I cannot recall the former owner names, however, there was a 440-6 Cuda and a big block Camaro from Division 7 that also crossed the ocean.
