With both the Camaro and G8 you can leave from idle or 1000 to 1500 rpm. The converter we use is a Vigilante 2800-stall triple-disc lock-up from Precision Industries. The problem isn't getting the car to hook, the problem is the 1/2 shift that spins with just about every tire we put under it. We put the car in manual mode and shift at 5500 instead of 6400 which tends to take care of the problem.
The Camaro is going to be a very quick car with a few modifications. One of the biggest advantages with the 6L80E cars is the L99 engine with variable valve timing technology. The problem we are now having with out 850 horsepower G8 is that no one will let us run 10's at over 140 without a roll bar, jacket, driveshaft loop, etc... Although we will be running it next week. |

Every track will let you do it once, lol. Some twice if you tell them the first time was an accident.
