I am looking for a used lightweight steel 40 spline spool for a 9" Ford. I prefer a Mark Williams. I also have for sale, a detroit locker out of a Nascar 9" rear. Call with any info (434) 665-9541.

Doesn't the MW spool have to be run with their axles, due to the way they machine their units?

I believe the splines are cut at the outer ends of the spool on MW stuff.

M/W and Strange splines are the same on 40 spline. M/W are a different pitch on 35 spline and will not interchange with Strange. The M/W 40 spline spools I own all have the splines cut all the way to the end of the spool. The Strange are recessed up inside the spool and require axles that are full length and end in the proper position to get a full spline engagement.
