Kenny- These prices are very affordable even for someone just beginning to collect muscle cars - the '69 GTO was a steal for a restored piece and the Boss 302 was reasonable for sure ....................

I saw Rick Hendrick buy a car. Announcer said that was his third car he purchased at BJ.
I figure here was a car guy just like us-only he had a pocket full of money to spend. Maybe he had a $200k cd sitting in the bank at .75% interest. Or his stock broker called him with (another) hot stock tip and he said screw it, I'm going to buy a car i can go to the garage and look at, drive or keep it for a couple years and resell it and make money. (Unless he buys a Ray Allen car). No sense in letting someone else have fun with that money.

If I had his money, I'd do the same thing.

The part that I don't like is that I would like to find a 63-67 Corvette that I want to restore myself. BJ has drove the prices so high that I cant find a reasonable priced project car.
By the time I pay top dollar for a car and restore it, the cost will be prohibitive. I won't buy a finished car. Not my style.

The black 55 was his 3rd or 4th of the day. He bought a handful of various cars on Friday, also.

My best bud that I race with and attend Yankee games with has a '66 or '67 Corvette convertible. 427/435. I put an engine together for him for it. Call it period correct with date codes very close to original I believe it was an orginal 427/435 but the engine was gone. He removed the body a year or two ago and spiffed up the frame and suspension. He rarely drives it........It's like a savings account to him I think.

I also have a buddy with a nearly totally orginal and correct '70 Boss 429 Mustang. I don't think it has seen the light of day in 20+ years. It was once appraised at something like $50K but that was a long time ago......He syas it's his retirement..........

I have a friend and neighbor that collects 63-67 vettes as well as selling them . He has them from $38,000.00 and up (35 of them )..... All are drivers and some are restored as B J cars ....He would beat B J's prices all day long........

I have a friend in western Md who was and maybe still is one better known guys in NCRS.
Last I heard he has somewhere north of 45 Corvettes in his garage. They are all 1-3's on a 1-5 scale. I hate show up at his house cause I know what the outcome will be.

I will never forget the sound of that 63 fuel car with the gas pedal on the floor.

Talking Re: Barrett-Jackson

Its official!!! Craig Jackson "the blowhard of arizona" just LOST 2.0 million dollars!!!!

His pride and joy 1970 plymouth hemi cuda convertable just dropped 2.0
million in value. A original 1970 plymouth hemi cuda convertable ( the last one produced in 1970)authenticated by Galen Govier on hand himself just sold @ Russo&Steele 1.55 mil.
I guess this means his bubble has burst and a hemi challenger convertable failed to meet reserve @ $750,000.00. Working in the collector car dealer biz myself we saw a HUGE drop in attendance at all the auctions this year. & no real money bidders to speak of. Other than the prearranged sales @ Barretts..
In this market a car is only worth the what the market will bear. Now we know the market has let Craig "Jokeson "know what it is instead of him dictating it.
