Crate motor's sold. Building an engine for Super Stock GT. So I was wrong on one point... new engine is factored at 275.

Same 275 hp as the factory rating for an LT1 (now 344 in Stock?) except with ten more inches, 11.5-1 instead of the LT1's 10.5-1 comp, much larger (250 cfm) TB, larger valves, larger higher flowing ports, better intake, etc, etc....

Maybe a LITTLE soft, right? LOL

Ed I think you are a little confused. Michael isn't talking about the new DP 360 (5.9). He's talking about the 1.88/ 1.60 valve, OEM production head, stock intake, TQ carb engine. Jim

Actually no, Jim, I *am* talking about the 5.9L Dragpak motor.

Nice pics, Lew! Hey, is that a '77 Nova? LOL

And Ed, it's more than a little soft... and that's *precisely* why I'm building it. I'm not here to blow smoke up anyone's rear. I can't afford to NOT build it. I'm building it to live, to footbrake it, to beat the snot out of it double-entered three times a week, and to put it in a bunch of winner's circles (mebbe?). I'm not out to prove how fast it can go (plenty of people can and will do that), but I am going to try to show how much of a winning, consistent, durable workhorse it is. If anyone's trying to hunt up the parts to build one, call Scott at Southland Speed. (see ad on the ClassRacer homepage)
