I let him know some, primarily bracket racers in my opinion, have pushed this agenda for years as they wish to have the national event lime light (and rewards) yet lack the resources, talent or desire to build a competitive car which will pass tech.

I don't agree with your analysis. Just who are these bracket racers? Me, Fletcher, Biondo, Fetch? Don't think so. Heck, I don't think there are *that* many "real" bracket racers running in Stock and Super Stock these days! Most of the ones that do have very nice, very fast cars. I for one have advocated changes that would potentially increase heads-up runs. The ones that fight the notion are class racers with their own agenda.

Saying that bracket racers are trying to get rid of heads-up runs in S/SS racing is like saying bracket racing is too complicated to explain to spectators. It's a popular argument, but one that doesn't hold water upon closer inspection.
