Any special classes on the horizon for the CJ and DP cars in IHRA other than their regular FI classes?
Will the refactored IHRA horsepowers keep up with the NHRA changes if there are no new classes? Last edited by Jason; 12-11-2010 at 02:18 PM. |

IHRA started a AA/FI class for them. But with the diversity now available, I don't know where tech will put them all. Check with Mike Baker at IHRA.

Just thinking out loud here, but if IHRA makes the CJ cars legal in the EFI Stock classes, then wouldn't the (body only) be legal in Stock/ GT ?

8.0 lbs for A/PS is the top class. After the first few V-10 drag packs hit the track the HP factor will gain "weight" Its human nature to run fast. Besides the last time I wrote the rules "Pure Stock" cars were supposed to be show room avaliable and in the hands of the general public. More than 50 or 70 required. You would have to put mufflers on that V-10 monster anyway and drive the water pump off of the crank. . Does Chrysler supply the cam duration/overlap specs along with valve spring pressures for inspection purposes? Naaaaaaaaaaaaa ! Same deal for the Fords.

With all the talk about the new cars needing their own class, at least until they get factored correctly, IHRA can continue on the new car only AA/FI and AA/FIA classes with BB/FI, CC/FI, etc. for the rest of them with their own indexes. (Not sure if somebody suggested this format before.) I believe J/SA Mustangs were the lowest class talked about for the new cars.
