Hey Jim, I know how you feel, we (Kirk Morgan and myself) have decided not to run the event even though its only 30 minutes away.

With the entry and unknown schedule of Q runs,$35 for the 3 hr T&T, plus in my case I would have to get my membership and permanent number renewed it would cost me close to $600.00 to enter. Kirk won last year during the ProAm and is still a member, but has decided to just work on the cars for Dallas.

Its rained the last 3 days here, don't know about Marion, but we got over 3 inches so far this week.

For those competiors that do make the trip, good luck and Oh...........bring plenty of extra weight to make up for the lack of a starting line!!!

I got one for you guys, how would you like to be the racers who entered the second divisional of the double header at Firebird Intl Raceway, and got just one time run and may have been a first rnd. ru.? They still spent $165 for that...kind of puts a new twist on the IHRA's offering huh?

I enjoyed the weekend even after changing a rear u- joint and a starter on my Falcon. I introduced myself to Sam Pourciau , Jim Hanig, and Doug Elverud. Sam is a real character, good luck with your move to SD Jim, and Doug has Falcon's too.

Thanks to everyone that tried to help me find a grease gun for the new u-joint too. It was fun to get the Falcon back out again but it's back in storage again. Maybe next year.

Jeff I was the one standing with George McMillian(green Camaro stocker) when you asked us if we had a grease gun. That was you right?

Seven Super Stockers this year..........so it is an improvement. Probably 5 times than many cars within 100 miles of San Antonio. Let's see if I can figure this out.....cheap entry, pays good......no cars!!!!! What is up with that? For what it is worth, by my count, 25 of the 70 Super Stockers that ran in Las Vegas this past week end had to tow over 500 miles One Way to race in Las Vegas. So, as much as we complain about NHRA, quite obviously IHRA is not the solution. (PS, I am only 240 miles from Vegas and did not run.......in the middle of changes to our car)

I am not trying to be a smart a--...........but you can draw more the 7 Super Stockers at most any weekend race at even small tracks on weekends, that pay virtually nothing....

So, if you were IHRA, what would you do to attract racers? And forget about cheap entry and good payouts, that obviously doesn't work.

I will tell you what I think. I think there is an attitude that some racers have that they are "better" than other racers who attend the IHRA races. Let me give you a clue.......... you are not any better! What you are doing is two fold. One.... you are missing out on being treated like a human instead of a number, and two.... you are dealing a death blow to the sport you love so much. IHRA is trying hard to get racers to show up. It costs less to race with them, they pay just as much as the NHRA and you will for sure have more fun. It's sort of like having a Democracy with only one political party. If there is no competition how long do you think NHRA will remain a (figuratively) democracy? I challenge those of you to try one IHRA race this year and see what I'm talking about. It's your sport, how long do you want it to last? Jim

Not setting you straight, just answering your question and giving you something to think about. Jim
