I contacted Eagle about this part number in 2014 to see if it was available and they told me it had been discontinued around 10 years ago. Eagle's current forged crank for the 302 is part number 430230015090, As of an email in 2014 they said they had given up trying to get NHRA to approve it.

Difficult to find perfectly clean and legal forged cranks for SBF.

Lots on the market, none on the list. Go figure.

The 430230005090FD crank is a Eagle Forged 4340 crank made for Ford and sold under the part # M-6303-E302 crankshaft. It is the 302 internally balanced crank used in Ford's crate motors. Hollow rod journals, nice piece. They are available for less than $300. I think it's the best best deal out there for a forged Ford 302 crank. Still available! Shop around!

M-6303-E302 is no longer available - the last one left the warehouse in January 2015. There may be 1 or 2 sitting somewhere. It was a smoking deal while it lasted.

Two new on Ebay right now, many Ford suppliers sell them. Roush Yates stocks them and sells them for 289 w/free shipping. There are plenty around...how do I know...staring at two I had stroked .013 yesterday.

The E302 mentioned is listed as being for 83 and newer blocks. What engine build are we talking about in this thread?

What is the stroke difference between an older build like the 68 Cougar 302/230 I'm trying to get legal and the 83 and newer blocks? I run the M-6010 BOSS 302 block.

The 1983 and newer are one piece rear oil seal. 1982 and older is two piece. The stroke is the same.

best regards,
Roland

Thanks. The Eagle I wound up with was listed as either one or two piece seal. My block, which is accepted for all SBF applications, takes a one piece.

Submissions by racers carry more weight than mfrs' requests.

According to the form at NHRA Racer, I have to ship the crank to Indy for approval. Can't do that now.

Dale,

Approval for cranks usually only needed photos from multiple angles and specs, I have sent pictures from a manufactures catalog along with specs, weight, journal diameter..material...and received approval. Piston and rods...different story.
