In my opinion he would have to accept the loss. it works both ways. I check both dials when I stage just to make sure. If there is a mistake in the other lane I want to know about it although its not my responsibility to alert the starter that the other drivers dial is not correct. you would be surprised how many don't check their dial before staging. Once you stage and run the race you have accepted the dial. In the overall scope of this it is a fairly rare occurrence that the dial is incorrect..

This came up in the other thread.
Initially , I thought, well, if you stage on it ,you own it.
But is it really the opponent's job to monitor and correct the other car's dial in?
If he doesn't, he may just lose to an over the index dial. That's not how S/SS is run.
Take it a step further..Yes , the other car knows it's wrong and stages anyway, thinking his opponent will surely break , but then he doesn't.
The more I think about this...this should have been a re-run.

Yes,unless both cars are in the same class and yet tower inserted 2 different dials then it would be a rerun.
