I know guys/gals that go on the stop as early as .001 to avoid wadding up the tire, with that small amount of time you are talking about. I might use weight, shift time, or other tune up means to avoid a T Stop all together. Shifting sooner or later by 100 rpm, about 6 lbs per 100th of weight might be a good starting point, a manual thumb stop on the carb to control WOT can work. I have a Pig Farmin buddy that does more off the wall stuff than you could imagine that runs right on, that nobody wants to race or loose to.
